The MB Hanoi Cup 2026 Is Two Weeks Out — Here's What You Need to Know
The official seeds are in, and PPA Tour Asia's first stop of 2026 just got a lot more interesting. The MB Hanoi Cup 2026 goes down April 1–5 at the My Dinh Indoor Athletics Arena in Hanoi, Vietnam — with 1,000 PPA ranking points and up to $300,000 in prize money on the table.
Anna Leigh Waters. International Debut. Top Seed in Two Events.
All eyes open on Anna Leigh Waters, who enters as the top seed in both Women's Doubles and Mixed Doubles — and makes her international debut on this stage. Over 190 career gold medals and she's still hungry. Vietnam might be where she pushes toward 200.
Standing across from her: World No. 2 Anna Bright in the Women's Doubles draw. And in Mixed, World No. 1 Ben Johns as her partner. That's a formidable combination by any measure.
Ben Johns and Gabe Tardio (Godfather FAMILY) Lead the Men's Doubles
Johns holds the top seed in Mixed Doubles and heads into Men's Doubles alongside Godfather Pickleball's own Gabe Tardio as the top seed. Johns is chasing his first Asian tour gold — he took silver and bronze in his 2025 showings — and Hanoi is the opportunity to close that gap.

Men's Singles: Staksrud Leads a Loaded Field
Federico Staksrud tops the Men's Singles draw. The World No. 2 Argentinian took bronze at the Vibrant Linping Hangzhou Open last December and knows this field has depth. He'll be hunting the 1,000 points at the top — and the No. 1 ranking that comes with them.
Right behind him at seed No. 2 is Christian Alshon, who topped the podium at the Panas Malaysia Cup last year and will be looking to carry that form into Hanoi. Connor Garnett enters at No. 3 with legitimate title credentials — he won Men's Singles as part of a Triple Crown run at the Sansan Fukuoka Open 2025. He knows how to win in Asia.
Women's Singles: New Faces, Familiar Stakes
Kate Fahey (Godfather FAMILY) arrives in Asia for the first time and enters as the top seed. The World No. 2 carries five singles gold medals among her 20 PPA singles podiums and is looking to add to that collection on her debut.
World No. 3 Kaitlyn Christian — reigning Panas Malaysia Cup 2025 champion — is the most dangerous threat to Fahey's debut run. But don't sleep on Sahra Dennehy at seed No. 6. The World No. 13 closed 2025 on a tear, going undefeated across back-to-back PPA Asia gold medals at the MB Vietnam Cup and the Vibrant Linping Hangzhou Open. She arrives in Hanoi with momentum no one else in the draw can match.
The full player lineup headed to Hanoi is here.
This is the kind of event that defines careers and reshapes rankings. We'll be watching every match — and with Gabe Tardio on the court, we'll have a front row seat to all of it.
